Fighting Back Santa Maria Valley was founded in 2003 by a coalition of concerned organizations and community members. The Coalition was alarmed by the negative impact of Drugs and Alcohol on the youth and families of the Santa Maria Valley. Over the years the focus of the 501(c) 3, non- profit has expanded to include reducing violence and promoting a healthy and safe environment. |

We feel our products are different from anything else around focusing on quality ingredients while striving for providing excellent service. Orcutt is near and dear to all of us and we want to provide a great place for people to come hang out and eat our delicious menu items. |

On the 101 was started by Santa Barbara County-based journalist Shelly Cone. She has been a reporter and editor for a variety of publications including, Santa Maria Times, Lompoc Record, the Santa Ynez Valley News, the Sun, Goleta Valley Voice, and the Santa Barbara News-Press. She’s also written for a wide variety of local current and past publications including Inside Santa Ynez Valley, Latino Today, Silicon 2.0, Coastal Woman magazine, and Maps.com’s Get Inspired column. On the 101 covers business, events, and community along Highway 101 on California’s Central Coast. It was inspired by a desire to create a news product that highlights the positive aspects of our various communities. On the 101 reports on the good, the solutions, and the people driving the efforts to continually make this a better place. |
